Acupuncture is a
holistic medical system that has been practiced for over 5,000 years. It
is a painless and effective method for diagnosing, treating and
preventing illness.
During treatment, an
acupuncturist places fine, sterile needles at specific points on the
body. This quick, painless insertion stimulates your own body’s energy,
called qi ("chee") to improve circulation and boost immunity; helping
you to heal from acute and chronic problems.
Using the body’s own healing
abilities, acupuncture treats the root cause of disease as well as its
symptoms. It is also a form of preventive medicine – catching problems
before they develop or worsen. Acupuncture treats a wide range of
physical and emotional conditions including back and neck pain,
headaches, allergies, high blood pressure, diabetes and many others
affecting the respiratory, cardiovascular, digestive and endocrine
systems.
