What is REAL to the mind is REAL
to the body.
To understand the mind/body relationship
is to understand this.
Chronic pain is considered one of the major causes of
disability and early retirement in our nation and is accompanied and
greatly affected by anxiety and depressed mood, which can amplify the
pain. We know that emotional distress can contribute to health
conditions. If we choose to ignore these conditions and their emotional connections
they can become chronic.
In conjunction with medical care, Robin will teach you
coping strategies such as stress management and relaxation techniques
which will help with the ability to function in spite of pain and live a
better quality of life.

About Robin: Robin is a Licensed
Mental Health Counselor (LMHC) with a BS in Medical Psychology and a Masters Degree in
Clinical Psychology, both from Bridgewater State College. The area of
mind/body health became an interest for Robin as she spent several years
dealing with a debilitating injury of her own which resulted in chronic
pain. During her rehabilitation process, Robin learned firsthand of the
powerful relationship between the mind and body, and complimentary
therapies for pain management. This was the driving force for Robin to
return to school to develop the tools to help others deal with similar
situations.
Robin provides counseling to individuals who struggle with chronic
physical and medical conditions and the associated mental health effects.
In addition to her specialty, Robin counsels individuals suffering with
psychological disorders (bipolar, post traumatic stress and panic
disorders) as well as those who are experiencing emotional situational
stresses (divorce, aging, death, job loss and other life changes), with
an overall objective of establishing and maintaining optimum mind/body
health.
